No rate has been officially published yet. The Verbandsgemeinde Cochem states that a guest contribution (Gästebeitrag) with guest card is being prepared, with a planned launch in spring 2027; the official briefing explicitly lists the contribution amount as a detail still to be determined. It is therefore not valid to substitute a rate from a non-official source or from another Moselle municipality.
Day visitors without overnight accommodation do not pay the planned guest contribution. The official page says that the Rhineland-Palatinate Municipal Fees Act contains statutory exceptions, but the specific exemptions (such as children, disability, or business travel) have not yet been published; the detailed rules are to follow in the guest-contribution bylaw.
The planned system is intended to cover accommodation providers, including short-term accommodation, but no separate short-term-rental registration number, housing-protection, or Zweckentfremdungsverbot rule is published in the official material. The announced host duties are: digitally register guests, collect the guest contribution, provide the guest card, and settle the contributions through the digital system. Internet access and a PC, laptop, or tablet are expected; training and a test phase are planned before launch.
