Bad Driburg
North Rhine-Westphalia (NW) · Teutoburger Wald
€ 3.10
per person / night

Rate structure & calculation

Bad Driburg levies a Kurbeitrag (visitor/health-resort contribution), not a percentage-based city tax. The standard rate is EUR 3.10 per person per stay-day, including statutory VAT. The charge arises from arrival through departure; arrival and departure together count as one day. It is charged for each stay, for a maximum of 42 days per calendar year. A reduced rate of EUR 2.40 per person per day applies to people with a certified degree of disability of at least 50%.

Exemptions & reductions

Exemptions include children under 14 when accompanied by a person liable for the contribution; visitors staying free of charge with a resident who do not use spa facilities; non-residents staying solely for work, school/training, or voluntary military/federal service; and persons unable to leave their accommodation because of a physical or psychological illness and therefore unable to use any spa facilities, if documented by an official or medical certificate. Persons with a certified disability of at least 50% receive the reduced EUR 2.40 rate rather than a full exemption.

Short-term rental & host rules

The official Kurbeitrag bylaw does not specify a separate short-term-rental registration number, housing-protection (Wohnraumschutz), or Zweckentfremdungsverbot regime. It does cover paid accommodation providers, including owners who provide paid accommodation in their own dwellings, vehicles, caravans, or tents. Hosts must record guest identity and required stay/exemption data by the day of arrival, issue the official spa card, collect the contribution immediately, submit reports and payment to the city by the 15th day of the month following the start of accommodation, keep a verifiable guest register for four years, retain supporting records for five years, and accept liability toward the city for the contribution.
