The municipal Gästebeitrag is €3.50 per person per night for persons aged 14 and over during the high season (15 March–31 October). During the rest of the year (1 January–14 March and 1 November–31 December), it is €1.80 per person per night. The contribution is payable regardless of whether tourism facilities or events are actually used. A yearly contribution of €98.00 may replace the overnight calculation; second-home owners and long-term campers are generally subject to the yearly contribution. Certain owner self-use periods below 28 nights have tiered flat amounts of €31.50 (1–9 nights), €63.00 (10–18), or €94.50 (19–27).
No visitor contribution is charged to children, grandchildren, siblings and their children, parents, grandparents, parents-in-law, children-in-law, or siblings-in-law of local residents or persons working/training locally when they stay free of charge in the household; people staying solely for work, school or vocational training; bedridden patients unable to use tourism facilities or attend tourism events; participants in city-recognized congresses, conferences, courses or comparable events when they cannot use tourism facilities outside the programme; military personnel for the duration of stationing; and federal voluntary-service workers with a local service location. In addition, the contribution is waived for children up to and including 13, persons with a severe disability of at least 80%, and an accompanying person where the entitlement is recorded on the disabled person's ID. Proof is required. A 10% reduction is available on application for welfare/social-insurance placements lasting at least seven nights and for young people in youth hostels, youth or school camps and their supervisors.
For paid short-term accommodation, hosts (Wohnungsgeber) must issue the guest card and collect the contribution within 24 hours of arrival, report each liable guest to the Gästebeitragskasse within three days using the prescribed or online registration form, and remit the contribution within 14 days of the payment request. They must keep a guest register containing the host's name, exact accommodation location, guests' ages and exemption grounds; retain it for five years from the start of the following calendar year; provide it for inspection and give requested information; and display the bylaw visibly in the rented premises. The official visitor-contribution sources reviewed do not state a short-term-rental registration number, Wohnraumschutz requirement or Zweckentfremdungsverbot.
