Bansin is covered by the joint Kurabgabe of the municipality of Ostseebad Heringsdorf. The adult rate is per person per day/overnight stay: EUR 2.90 in the low season (1 January–31 March 2026), EUR 3.70 in the main season (1 April–31 October 2026), and EUR 3.00 in the low season (1 November–31 December 2026). Arrival and departure count as one stay day, using the arrival-day rate. For 29 October 2026, the applicable adult rate is EUR 3.70. A yearly Kurabgabe is EUR 103.60. The Kurabgabe includes the UsedomCard; local bus travel is included, and from 1 April to 31 October the hop-on/hop-off boat service between the Kaiserbäder and Swinemünde is also included.
Children under six are exempt and receive a free UsedomCard, with proof where required. Persons who work in the area, are in vocational training there, or cultivate a non-residential allotment garden are not treated as non-residents and therefore are not subject to the Kurabgabe. The 2026 official materials do not state a disability-based reduction or a separate business-traveller exemption. The previous exemption for close relatives of local residents was removed from 1 January 2026; a separate municipal refund application may be available for up to four family members per household for up to 20 days, subject to the published conditions.
The 2026 bylaw treats anyone who accommodates liable guests or lets them residential space for holiday purposes as a Quartiergeber. The host must register guests, collect the Kurabgabe, remit it to the municipality, and issue the Kur-/Gästekarte (UsedomCard). The host must transmit the guest's first and last name, address, arrival and departure dates, date of birth and email address for the electronic card, unless the guest objects to the electronic card/data processing, in which case the email address is not collected and a paper card is issued. Registration must be made within one working day after arrival; the electronic procedure should be used, with paper forms as an alternative. Forms must be protected from unauthorised access and destroyed after one year, while being produced for inspection on request. The host must display the bylaw visibly and remit the collected tax by the 10th of the following month; the host remains liable for timely and complete collection and remittance. The official Kurabgabe materials do not state a Bansin registration-number, Wohnraumschutz or Zweckentfremdungsverbot requirement.
