For 2026, the standard adult Kurabgabe is EUR 3.70 per person per night/day in the high season (1 April–31 October). The low-season rates are EUR 2.90 (1 January–31 March) and EUR 3.00 (1 November–31 December). Arrival and departure together count as one stay day, charged at the arrival-day rate. A EUR 103.60 annual Kurabgabe applies to qualifying second-home owners, long-term campers and berth holders. The charge includes VAT and 2026 transport/mobility components (local bus and, during 1 April–31 October, the hop-on/hop-off boat service).
Children under 6 are exempt and receive a free UsedomCard. Persons with their ordinary residence in the municipality, persons who work or are in training there, and persons whose stay is for predominantly professional reasons are outside the visitor-tax liability rather than receiving a reduced tourist rate. The verified 2026 information does not state a disability-based reduction. The previous exemption for visiting close relatives was removed from 1 January 2026; any separate municipal refund programme for family members is not the same as an exemption in the tariff.
A short-term rental host or anyone letting accommodation for recreational purposes is a Quartiergeber. The host must register/report guests, collect the Kurabgabe, remit it to the relevant municipality, and issue the UsedomCard. The host must collect and transmit the guest’s name, address, arrival and departure dates, date of birth and (for an electronic card) email address; provide the data-processing information and explain the right to refuse the electronic card. Reporting must be made within one working day after arrival, electronically where possible or on paper. Forms must be protected from unauthorized access and retained for one year; they must be produced on request. The Kurabgabe is remitted by the 10th of the following month, and the host is liable for complete and timely collection/remittance. The verified municipal/tourism sources do not state a separate registration-number, Wohnraumschutz or Zweckentfremdungsverbot requirement.
