The official 2026 municipal schedule is a location-based visitor tax (Kurbeitrag), charged per stay day; €3.30 per adult (18+) in Kurbezirk I (Bad Griesbach-Therme), €2.60 in Kurbezirk II (the town and named districts), and €1.90 in Kurbezirk III (the remaining municipal area). Children and young people aged 14–17 and persons with a disability level of 80–99% pay reduced rates of €1.90/€1.55/€1.20 respectively. Partial days count as full days, and the arrival and departure days together count as one stay day. Statutory VAT is included. The numeric field uses the highest standard adult rate; the applicable rate depends on the accommodation's zone.
Children under 14, persons with a disability level (GdB) of 100%, and officially recognised accompanying persons under § 146(2) SGB IX are exempt. Persons aged 14–17 and persons with GdB 80–99% receive the reduced rates stated above. The bylaw defines the liable group as people staying in the municipal spa area for therapeutic or recreational purposes who do not have their principal residence there; it does not state a separate business-traveller exemption in the cited provisions.
For short-term accommodation, hosts and other natural or legal persons who accommodate liable visitors or provide them with living space, as well as campsite operators, must report liable guests to the city in writing or electronically within one day after arrival or departure unless the guests have reported themselves. They must collect the Kurbeitrag, are liable to the city for receipt of the payment, and must remit it no later than one day after departure (unless the city permits month-end remittance). The cited municipal sources do not specify a short-term-rental registration number, Wohnraumschutz requirement, or Zweckentfremdungsverbot for Bad Griesbach.
